Vintner's Reserve - Hand Selected

2008 Mendocino County Zinfandel

The Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Hand Selected Zinfandel from the 2008 vintage showcases the vibrant character of Mendocino County. This red wine presents a full-bodied experience with a delightful interplay of rich flavors. Bright acidity invigorates the palate, perfectly balancing the luscious fruit intensity that highlights notes of ripe blackberries and plums. Tannins are firm yet well-integrated, providing structure without overpowering the wine's expressive fruit. With a dry profile, this Zinfandel is not only enjoyable on its own but also a fantastic pairing for grilled meats and hearty pasta dishes, making it a wonderful option for any dining occasion.

Region:

Mendocino County

One of the unsung regions of the North Coast, Mendocino County enjoys some of California's finest cool-climate terroirs. Lying north of Sonoma, it is home to 12 separate AVAs, spread through sleepy valleys and long, rugged coastlines—much of which exudes a rustic, laid-back feel. Mendocino delights fans of top-quality Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and sparkling wine, but there is also plenty of fine Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Syrah made in its warmer sites too. Mendocino is also famous for its high number of organic-certified vineyards, reflecting the general "off-grid" hippie nature of its winemaking pioneers.
